Roots and Wings

I whispered your name to my Angels
and asked, that they keep you in their care
because I truly cherish you,
for you are a treasure, rare.

I knew they'd guard you gently
and wrap you in their wings.
And as you walk through your world,
that they'd keep you safe for me.

When nights are dark and cold
and you feel all alone,
I asked that they guide you to my heart
and light your way back home.

And "Until then", I asked them,
"please help me with the waiting",
till you come back to find the one
who gave you roots...and wings.
