"Older" is a relative term
*Not for the faint of heart, the prude, or the easily offended, to peruse*
I recently began to notice a trend of younger men being attracted to older women. We won't discuss how I noticed this specifically. (chuckles to herself)
I am, proudly, a 45 year old woman, firmly seated in the middle years of my life. As a young woman, I used to worry about how I compared to other girls; Was I hot enough? Smart enough? Interesting enough? Stacked enough?
As I work with much younger women, (Hell, let's be honest here, they're girl's for goodness sake; 19 - 22yrs of age) the lack of maturity in so many arenas becomes evident. They use their feminine wiles to gain attention, distract, manipulate, etc...but as a dear friend of mine would say, "Okay, you're hot & young. That'll get you 15 minutes. Whatcha got after that?" (I should add that this is only a statement in relation to relationships...Please, don't nail me with age prejudice as I have a myriad of friends from every walk of life and stage of life.)
I have to laugh when he says that. It hits the nail on the head. He's a good-looking guy, about my age, who's been around the block a time or two as have I...and while he's certainly attracted to those firm nubile bods, he realizes that there isn't a great deal of stay power if you want something beyond the physicality of sheet wrestling. Even in that respect, experience and wisdom still rule out in the long run.
I suppose there are exceptions; a few old souls who have some inherent wisdom inside...However, for the most part, years of experience rounds us, makes us more whole, and more comfy in the skin we wear. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to be all perky tight from head to toe, but I do work hard at keeping myself in shape...for my age.
I was always attracted to older men. Boys, though pretty, don't quite "get it" yet...in or out of the bedroom. Men, those lovely seasoned and ripe ones, know that they get far more enjoyment from taking the time to know what makes their partner tick, grin, laugh and wet the sheets. Their reward is something far greater than just "getting a nut." As brash and common as that phrase may be, it is indeed an expression the young adults around here use quite freely.
So it goes with older women. We've been around that block a time or two. We've encountered all the horn-dog skirt chasing, line spouting woodies we care too. We've heard it all, seen it all. We can pretty much tell in the first minute if you've got what it takes to rock our world, and we know what it takes to rock yours.
The older woman is attractive because she carries herself with an air of dignity, and a titillating mix of classy confidence and after hours vixen-esque sexperience...
I don't worry about "things" (lol) not being in the exact place they were a few years ago. I love all the working parts of me. I'm comfy in my own skin and quite confident that whichever man I choose to share my myriad of talents with will most assuredly end the eve as a totally spent puddle of naked flesh.
We older chicks are a ride...for ALL the senses...So boyz...men...You must be at least "this tall" to ride this ride...but I warn you, strap in tight...It's about to get cwazy.

Comment by Gerri Johansson on December 5, 2008 at 9:20am - You made my laugh out loud oops(lol) As you I have some darn fine friends ages 25-85 and can get something from all of them. Howeve I am just learning to enjoy my own SKIN ----but God help the poor 14 years old coming up to being young adults ---the bar is to high. However I noticed a commerical the othe day that Dove soap is holding seminars for young young teenagers to instill in them they dont have to be a size two and BARBIE to be a damn fine person. There is hope for us allllllllllllll.

Comment by Deborah Nielson Glen on November 28, 2008 at 7:14am - Yes, I agree that older women don't need to worry about having perfect bodies, because like you say, after the guy appreciates your looks for 15 minutes, you had better have something substantial brain and personality wise to hold his attention for the long haul. Being older, us gals have the advantage over the young beginners with perfect bods.
