A New Mantra
I think I have a new mantra.
Today, as I was driving north on that highway I so often travel, I drove up behind a brick-colored SUV. And on that SUV was a small, discreet bumpersticker:
Love > Fear
The driver wasn't an old hippie... or any other expected stereotype that my judgment might bring to mind... he was an older staid-looking gentleman. Just a normal man, a stalwart member of the community, sending me the message I needed to hear -- a Christmas gift -- via his bumper:
Love > Fear
Because you see, Sweet Friends, I have been paralyzed by fear lately, both global and personal. But that little reminder-- that love is greater than fear -- really hit home.
Love CAN supersede fear... but we have to use it. We have to believe in love... look with love... be love.
So, from now on, every time I can remember, I'm beaming love just as sweetly as I can from my bright shining heart... of course, to those I love, but also to those situations I fear, and those I don't understand.
That's my Christmas gift to everyone -- love with the power to transform.
