My First Post And Contribution.

Hi Everyone,

So here's my first blog for this website. I'm hoping it will be the first of many.

I've already said a bit about myself on the main page, but here I guess I can be a bit more self-indulgent. As I said before, I'm a very passionate writer. I realised this maybe a year or so ago, thanks to a long and drawn-out conversation with my fiance and my Dad. It was more my fiance's encouragment and support that made me decide that I wanted to pursue writing as a career. I've done some paid work but nothing really serious...I seem to spend the majority of my time just researching new job leads, or trying to understand the business side of being a freelancer. I love the idea that people will go on sites like this and see my writing. I want my writing to envoke emotion, thought and opinion, even if those opinions don't match my own. I've triggered off the thought in that person, that brought them to that opinion.

I constantly want to push myself, so that I can be the best I can be. I don't want someone else to dictate how my life is going to be or how far I can go when it comes to accomplishing goals. I want to learn from other people. I want my own knowledge to be useful for someone else (although at 19, my knowledge is a little limited). I don't know very many people that share my love for writing, so it's nice to be somewhere like this where people are looking to share and are doing such in a creative and entertaining way.

I'm looking forward to contributing more to this site, and getting to know more of you who are also frequent members on here.

Hi Katrina,

Your energy and enthusiasm are truly welcome! There are young people on this Network and there are a lot of very professional writers who can help you so feel free to post anything. I think all writers go through stages of "the passion of the new lover," the "squabbling, ups and downs," the "maturing relationship," and sometimes "divorce," sometimes, "renewal." And if you go at it long enough a beautiful settlement with your soul-mate called writing. The first and last stages are the most pleasant! The stages in between determine a great deal about the path you truly follow.

The greatest virtue of a new writer is learning to commingle the passion with patience.
