It's Me...

More of the inquiries I receive are of a "tell me more about you" nature and that's such a broad question, especially to such an intense thinker. I could spend the time spinning out the tale of how I came to be at this point in life, or I could philosophize about who I am internall… Continue

In the Wake

The siren moon rubs her eyes and wakes To flirt with midnight's enchanting stars... I lay there, between the cool sheets, Gazing out the window, Witnessing the courtship... A sweet peaceful dance As the night frolics while the day sleeps. I Drift... Slumber tugs at the cor… Continue

"Older" is a relative term

*Not for the faint of heart, the prude, or the easily offended, to peruse* I recently began to notice a trend of younger men being attracted to older women. We won't discuss how I noticed this specifically. (chuckles to herself) I am, proudly, a 45 year old woman, firmly seated in the middle years of my life. As a young woman, I used to worry about how I compared to other girls; Was I hot enough? Smart enough? Interesting enough? Stacked enough? As I work with much younger women, (Hell… Continue

The Feel of Words

An invitation, gather 'round. Welcome here where tales abound Of maidens fair and gentlemen, A journey wandered now and then. A primrose path, a thorny deed. Romance or a murderous seed. Light and fresh or deep and dark. A fevered pace, a dreamer's spark. Take a ride on silken threads, As many colored layers are shed. Phrase by phrase as strokes of brush, A painted story, full and lush. A revelation, a silly bit. Parts of wholes as pieces fit. Weaving here and bobbing there. Holding thoughts… Continue

Stealth, to the Nth Degree

“The name is Bond, James Bond.,“ is a quote synonymous with the imaginary world of high stakes intrigue. In relation to some compelling new information, it seems dually profound that both the character and his creator have ties to the clandestine avenues of espionage. In 1939, the Director of Naval Intelligence for the Royal Navy, Rear Admiral John Godfrey, recruited Ian Fleming, then member of the Black Watch, as his personal assistant. Eventually Fleming reached the rank of Commander, his code… Continue

A New Age of Energy

It strikes me as odd that in such an advanced technological age, that we are still so dependent on crude oil. The arguments for offshore drilling seem both too long in coming and far short of the long term solution. Simply put, my concern is that there is only a finite amount of this natural resource. Focusing on oil as our quick fix only serves to complicate this same issue for generations down the road. The price of crude oil has a huge effect on the economies of nations who depend upon it and… Continue

Each day....

Each day I wake, I continue to be amazed by the complexity of the interactions of the everyday and the ordinary we so take for granted. Take time to glance around at the people you pass each day, in the grocery store, at the traffic light, on the bench waiting for the city bus....It is fascinating, sobering even, to recognize the myriad of emotions on those faces. One doesn't even have to connect on a personal level to wonder the intent behind those strangers' eyes. Happiness, sadness, disconte… Continue

The Rains Must Fall

The sky in my small corner of the world seemed to understand me this day, even to sympathize. It dawned as a bright and glorious sunny day then changed its mood to suit my own. As the sun made its escape, the mottled gray and white clouds took position above. A cool rain began to fall. I enjoy the smell of fresh fallen rain and walked out into the mist to breath deeply as it newly baptized the earth with its sweet cleansing scent. I glanced up and was overcome by the moment. Mother Nature had s… Continue

A little poetry while I organize myself...

Be... To each his own and to own his each. Live and learn, aid and teach. Be that unique in thought and deed. As to inspire when there be need. Smell the rose and taste the air. Of all around take time to care. Be true and sure and honest still. Strength in character and will. Share kindness in a smile or two. Sleep well at night as dreamers do. Have faith in friends, one and all. Be one depended on to call. Bare your soul, reach out, take chance. Join in life's eclectic dance. Shine for… Continue

A pinch of cynical, a dash of optimism and just a tad of sweet....

Hello everybody!!! I know this is a site to utilize for professional leads and such, but I wanted my first intro to the fellow writers here to have a flavor of me, as a person...A big fat no no in the pro sense of this medium, but I think when others read my serious to light ramblings, it serves well to know the woman behind them. So, without further adieu... Hitchhiking through the cyber waves I came across this little gem of a site.....So, I guess this is where I give you a tid bit of a desc… Continue
