Business ventures, banks and companies were closing down because of world recession. Unemployment, lay-offs and hunger as well as poverty are the scenario of recession. But what could be are hopes? Since even big companies or establishments are greatly affected by this economic crisis.
Recessions typically take a hard toll on the recreation industry, and this one may have been the straw that broke the back of Six Flags Parks.… Continue

I try where possible to be organised in my writing, not easy may I say but the Microsoft and Computeractive have a variety of ways of keeping tabs of some of the tasks to be done related to writing. Years ago, I could keep a log on things with the use of an electronic filofax via Computeractive but when I changed software or computer, can't recall which, I sadly had to say farewell to that then I used Outlook Express which had this facility but it seems no more so I scoured the Net for the… Continue

Free lance writing is touch sometimes. I think the hardest part is finding a decent Dental Plan
and Medical Insurance. An Indiana Open Heart Surgery
group recently did a study on independent artists that have or don't have health insurance. I can certainly understand why some people do not get… Continue

I haven’t had time to blog much this month. While my NaNoWriMo count looks fine, I’m not quite on target for what I wanted. On the other hand, if I don’t make 90,000 words, it won’t be that bad. I’ll still have a great start on this book.
It’s curious. It still seems like one long dialogue, or maybe conversation, amongst the main characters. And it keeps stretching. I don’t know if it’s because I write in small doses broken up by leaving my desk for a drink of tea, petting the cat,… Continue

The keys have been exchanged.
The bits and pieces of our life,
and our junk,
all are thrown into a box and
loaded in the trunk.
Now spent, exhausted,
we stumble from
our splintered past,
memories pave our sad retreat
from shattered promises and broken dreams
Not ours the picture perfect postcards
and sepia tinted kodachromes.
No! Ghosts of love and laughter
now walk the… Continue

I tried to post this a few days ago but had some problems. So here goes...
So, as I was saying in...when was that?
I'm working again. Got a job as a consultant for a company that has a government contract. Doing the usual stuff, IT documentation. At least it's income...right? And in this economy, having a job is a good thing.
I've become a fan of the show "Castle", starring Firefly's Nathan Fillion and the wonderful Susan Sullivan.… Continue

I walk down the path of uncertainty
To reach the abode of peace
Like an untamed animal my mind revolts
Against all odds that befall on the path
I behold the both - fair and foe
Merging into one another
I sometimes fail to know
The way of the world - which is fair and who’s foe?
The dust and debris cling to my feet
Wanting to follow my path along
Fatigued and exhausted,
I spread my hands out and close my eyes…
I could see the… Continue

So did you think
of me love,
was I in your dreams
did you smile
as I lay gently
by your side?
Did you float
into my arms love,
in sweet embrace,
did you sigh
upon your face?
did you surrender
to your hunger
and to mine,
and in your dreams
did our hearts and… Continue

Aahhh. It is officially Day #7 in NaNoWriMo-land. I haven’t written on Nano yet today, but that time is coming later this afternoon. I did promise to post about it, so that’s what I’m here for.
On most of my blogs, you can find a little blue icon that will show you my updated word count. For those of you who don’t want to search it out, the count stands at 21,345 words. I am officially on-target for my unofficial goal of 90,000, and I’m way ahead of where I need to be to meet the… Continue

While traveling we always have new experiences, whether they are amazing, life changing or just disillusioning. Tell us your travel story. It may deal with a travel journey to a new place, time traveling, revisiting one's past, visiting a lost love or a new one, or an inner journey. Travel reports can be as much about one's internal navigation of their emotions as a physical voyage.
There is currently running a free-to-enter short story contest on BookRix for writers and readers. The… Continue

I swear, this is true. I’m not just stringing random words together. These actually make a story. And I am at:
I can’t believe it either.
Will this pace last? Stay tuned.

Nov 1 – Well, it’s 9:00 EST, and I’ve made it through the day. Besides taking my son to investigate the Society of Creative Anachronisms, I’ve written 4 chapters for 5562 words. At this rate my book will be even bigger than the 90,000 I anticipate. I know I’m getting plot down, and character, but I’ve a feeling I’ll be doing some backfilling on place and description. We’ll see.
I’m having to use whatever time I get to the fullest, as I don’t know when other things will interfere. But… Continue
