The Things We Do For Income

With the economy the way it is today it is no wonder so many people are looking for various ways to earn a living. I, for example, work in a convenience store, write online and have a budding Avon business. None, of which, by themselves will pay the bills. So why do I continue to search for new ways to earn an income? Because I know there are opportunities out there with my name on them.

I recently joined a website that was for work at home opportunities. There are a substancial… Continue

Thugs, Beer and Money

A funny thing happened a few weeks back. I found myself watching UFC 100. Yes, I confess, I watch mixed martial arts. I usually don't pay for the big events like these because, well, they're damned expensive and usually big disappointments. I once actually paid $45 for one such event and then slept through most of it.

But morbid fascination compelled me to click the little red button on the remote for UFC 100. I couldn't not watch Brock Lesnar taking on Frank Mir, especially not… Continue

BY DR. RAM SHARMA

C-26, SHRADHAPURI PHASE2, KANKERKHERA, MEERUT, U.P., INDIA-250001

I still remember my childhood,

Love, affection and chide of my mother,

Weeping in a false manner,

Playing in the moonlight,

Struggles with cousins and companions,

Psuedo-chide of my father,

I still have everything with me,

But i miss,

Those childhood memories

STRUGGLE FOR FREEDOM IN THE NOVELS OF BHABANI BHATTACHARYA`S

STRUGGLE FOR FREEDOM IN THE NOVELS OF BHABANI BHATTACHARYA`S

BY DR. RAM SHARMA, SENIOR LECTURER IN ENGLISH, J.V.P.G COLLEGE, BARAUT, BAGHPAT, U.P.

Freedom is a state of mind, i.e. the freedom to be free. The people

have to feel that they are free. The denial of freedom and the struggle for it. The social exploitation and the slavish adherence to the past. Bhattacharya does not stand for all that goes in the name of Indian past. He finds that the Indian society is dominated by a… Continue

The Gift Of Life

A poem I wrote more than 15 years ago, on a dark lonely night, when hope was dim, and faith was dying, and fear encircled me all around

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Through life I wandered,
I was alone,
Lost in a wilderness,
Where light never shone.
Looking for love in all the wrong places,
Looking for love in too many faces,
Hoping i things that always past,
Hoping in things that never last.
Then came You to me,… Continue
A piece of ceiling from the sky….
I thought it was a nonsensical phrase when it entered my head, but I liked it. I sat here, trying to think of a way to use it. It actually didn’t take long.
