Robin Minnick NaNo #5

I haven’t had time to blog much this month. While my NaNoWriMo count looks fine, I’m not quite on target for what I wanted. On the other hand, if I don’t make 90,000 words, it won’t be that bad. I’ll still have a great start on this book. It’s curious. It still seems like one long dialogue, or maybe conversation, amongst the main characters. And it keeps stretching. I don’t know if it’s because I write in small doses broken up by leaving my desk for a drink of tea, petting the cat, checking ‘So… Continue

Roberta Heaslip-Evans Heaven Happened Here.

The keys have been exchanged. The bits and pieces of our life, our history and our junk, all are thrown into a box and loaded in the trunk. Now spent, exhausted, heads downcast we stumble from our splintered past, memories pave our sad retreat from shattered promises and broken dreams Not ours the picture perfect postcards and sepia tinted kodachromes. No! Ghosts of love and laughter now walk the ruins, the rubble that was once our home, of our Pompeii and Rome! So nothing left for us to say… Continue

Will Duarte No, I'm Still Here...

I tried to post this a few days ago but had some problems. So here goes... So, as I was saying in...when was that? I'm working again. Got a job as a consultant for a company that has a government contract. Doing the usual stuff, IT documentation. At least it's income...right? And in this economy, having a job is a good thing. TV RECOMMENDATION: I've become a fan of the show "Castle", starring Firefly's Nathan Fillion and the wonderful Susan Sullivan. Literate, witty and funny, it's a joy to w… Continue

Rakesh Patel A Soulful Journey!

I walk down the path of uncertainty To reach the abode of peace Like an untamed animal my mind revolts Against all odds that befall on the path I behold the both - fair and foe Merging into one another I sometimes fail to know The way of the world - which is fair and who’s foe? The dust and debris cling to my feet Wanting to follow my path along Fatigued and exhausted, I spread my hands out and close my eyes… I could see the light Showing the path way back to home From Reflections: A CollectContinue

Roberta Heaslip-Evans Surrender

So did you think of me love, was I in your dreams tonight, did you smile sweet recognition as I lay gently by your side? Did you float into my arms love, lost in sweet embrace, did you sigh exquisite rapture, passion's dew upon your face? Then love did you surrender to your hunger and to mine, and in your dreams tonight love, did our hearts and souls entwine? Roberta Heaslip-Evans 11/08/09 Continue

Robin Minnick NaNo #4

Aahhh. It is officially Day #7 in NaNoWriMo-land. I haven’t written on Nano yet today, but that time is coming later this afternoon. I did promise to post about it, so that’s what I’m here for. On most of my blogs, you can find a little blue icon that will show you my updated word count. For those of you who don’t want to search it out, the count stands at 21,345 words. I am officially on-target for my unofficial goal of 90,000, and I’m way ahead of where I need to be to meet the NaNoWriMo goal… Continue

Robin Minnick NaNo #2

Nov 1 – Well, it’s 9:00 EST, and I’ve made it through the day. Besides taking my son to investigate the Society of Creative Anachronisms, I’ve written 4 chapters for 5562 words. At this rate my book will be even bigger than the 90,000 I anticipate. I know I’m getting plot down, and character, but I’ve a feeling I’ll be doing some backfilling on place and description. We’ll see. I’m having to use whatever time I get to the fullest, as I don’t know when other things will interfere. But this has b… Continue

Robin Minnick Some Thoughts...

Just trying to get in a few coherent thoughts before NaNoWriMo starts up. I probably won't be blogging much, although I've now committed to posting some updates on my progress on all my blogs and FB and Twitter. Chances are they'll be identical updates, but people will have to check to see. I'd love to know if anyone on this site has done or is doing NaNoWriMo. If you did, how did it work out for you? I've heard some amazing stories. I've heard that some of the novels written have been publishe… Continue

Roberta Heaslip-Evans Island

laughing, you stand apart, at a distance, daring me to draw my weapon, to use my heart!! an island, built of your own design, (a world away from this world of mine) to guard your trust in a thorny shrine. your heart a fortress few dare to scale, manys the heart on it's rocks impaled! yet still I come, naive, enthused, while you prepare for battle! but I cannot choose what part not to love; for the paladin heart, the lamb and the wolf, are all I see in you! Roberta Heaslip-Evans And I Smile

Sometimes, amidst the hustle and bustle of daily life and the million things that need my attention - "Right Now!" - a thought of you breaks through like a warm ray of sunbeams. And I smile. A laugh, a touch, something funny - or sweet - that you said, or the tilt of your head, pushes the noise and demands of the moment into the distance. And I smile. And for a moment you're here with me sipping a coffee holding hands making plans laughing together sharing secrets and memories... Then my phone… Continue

Roberta Heaslip-Evans Roots and Wings

I whispered your name to my Angels and asked, that they keep you in their care because I truly cherish you, for you are a treasure, rare. I knew they'd guard you gently and wrap you in their wings. And as you walk through your world, that they'd keep you safe for me. When nights are dark and cold and you feel all alone, I asked that they guide you to my heart and light your way back home. And "Until then", I asked them, "please help me with the waiting", till you come back to find the one who… Continue
