What a unique moniker.. YuRo. I am trying to connect to more people this year in this genre within this site, but sometimes I totally forget that I've even sign on a a member, if you can even believe that! I'm becoming too much of a shut-in :-(.... NYC is just NOT the place for me to be, but I'm braving it supremely until such time as I'm out!
Please feel free to correspond and let me know what it is you enjoy writing.
I actually live the the borough of The Bronx, not Brooklyn -- and oddly enough though I'm not crazy about NYC, I really love The Bronx! Yes.. I'm a bit incongrous, but that's me for you! I'm just down the I-95 from CT., and my daughter is a proud U-MASS grad; so for the 5 years she was there, I'd have to make that 4 hour trek past thru CT.
I'm pretty optimist about my hometwon's recovery, and plan to return come what may! Anyhow.. how do yo find yourself faring on this site with writing and all, or have you not made any contributions thus far?
I'm trying to work on something that totally illustrates my feelings and love for a neglected but totally generous United States city.
I am originally from Connecticut, exiled to Philly. Just kidding, it's not so bad around Philadelphia, but I do miss CT and New England. My parents came to the US from Ukraine post WWII, survivors of treachery, lucky.
How long have you been in Brooklyn? I love New Orleans and plan to get back there for a visit, oh, Cafe du Monde!
Your home looks really.......homey, sorry. It makes me hark back/toward a spring or summer day, nice thought for today.
Hello YuRo!:
Thanx for the "hit of appreciation" where my Beloved N'awlins is concerned! I comb the web often in an attempt, [many of which have been successful as you can see!] to download pic of my home! At this juncture, I've so many, with such full clarity, till I use them as screensavers here at work and at home to keep me reminded that I will always be a New Orleanian! This is a photo of the Claiborne Street Bridge leading into the Lower 9th Ward, where I spent most of my young adulthood, before & after The Big K!

Where are you originally from, by the way?
