It's Been a Long, Long Time...Anyone There?

I've been "away" for a year. How time flies. Don't know if 2012 will be a "good" or "bad" year. Hoping for the best.

This was the year I was targeting to retire. But, we'll see.

How times change: how many of us are now using the word "smartphone" in our daily conversations. Just got one, a Motorola Droid Razr; it's a micro-tablet that makes, really. Don't think I'll ever get to use all its functions. Old Dog...New Trick.

So, here we go, 2012...

ANOTHER New Year Already?

So, here we go again. Another new year, another new start? Seems like just yesterday, I was saying, "OMG, it's 2010 already!" And now, here we are...2011. Anybody remember "Y2K?" Wasn't that just a few years ago?

A friend at work said that as you get older the years do go by faster because it's a smaller portion of your whole life. This year will be just 1/66th of my life, instead of 1/30th or 1/40th. Does that make sense"

As I Was Saying...

Well, it's been a while. Seriously, though... I guess working as a contract technical writer has been distracting.

Then there was my brother's bypass surgery...and getting "traded" one Saturday afternoon to a different company than the one I had been working a government contractor, it's, " today, gone today."

Just glad I still have a job. I wish I could talk about it, but who knows who reads these blogs and I would like to…

Happy Boxing Day

Hope you all had a nice holiday.

It's snowing here in Westmont...what a surprise, huh? Should stop around 5PM today, but would have been better if this happened yesterday when we were staying at home. Oh, well, I guess I'll go snowblow the driveway in a little while. Have some errands to do.

Hard to believe that we're approaching the "end of the decade." Wow, 10 years ago we were all waiting for the global disaster that was Y2K...remember that? And it… Continue

No, I'm Still Here...

I tried to post this a few days ago but had some problems. So here goes...

So, as I was saying in...when was that?

I'm working again. Got a job as a consultant for a company that has a government contract. Doing the usual stuff, IT documentation. At least it's income...right? And in this economy, having a job is a good thing.

I've become a fan of the show "Castle", starring Firefly's Nathan Fillion and the wonderful Susan Sullivan.… Continue
