About Me:
I'm currently looking for freelance opportunities in areas ranging from creative writing, blogging, article writing, and/or special coverage articles. I'm a Social Work major. However, be that as it may, I've been published in anthologies in the U.S. and the U.K. as well as in literary magazines. Moreover, I was hired by Our Lady of the Lake University's Center for Women designing, writing, and editing their monthly newsletter. If you would like to learn more about my qualifications/activities, contact me via e-mail at altheatremaine@gmail.com.

A Day in the Life...

What makes you a writer? Is it the talent or the heart? Personally, I couldn't say. However, I know I can always count on the fact that I love what I do.

Another thing I love, and yes, I did say thing, is my little creature of a fiancee. Without him, I would have never pushed myself to become more than the genre writer I used to be. I feel like I have more versatility now, and it's truly something I can't take all the credit for.

Apart from that, I'm a generally typical college student. I enjoy coffee and cigarettes, social outings, and time alone. I love the people I'm surrounded with, and I wouldn't trade them for the world. These are the people that will be there for me no matter what.

I feel that people are important in one's life... withouth them, we wouldn't be able to flourish. With that said, I hope you like what you see!

Top Ten Most Convenient Inventions (College Edition)

Today’s world revolves around a fast-paced environment built with not only ability, but convenience. For those of us who are not quite there yet, there’s college. The following are what I believe to be the top ten most convenient inventions for college students:

10. Social Networking Sites

It’s rare that a group of friends fresh out of high school ends up at the same university, if at one at all. That’s why social networking sites are the next best thing. There’s nothing like checking… Continue

Remembers of my Sad Prose

Reminders of My Sad Prose: Writing In a Time of Money

The craft of writing, over the course of history, has proved a veritable haven for people of passion. I, of course, am included in this tossed salad of metaphors and similes, alliteration and rhyme, and rhythm and flow. As far back as I remember, I've been that type of entity. In first grade, I wrote a book for my mom for mother's day. As a fifth grader, I wrote a song inspired by a book I read. My first novel was The Little Princess, a thic… Continue

You see it everywhere you look—The Man, The Big Cheese, The King—it seems as if in all our years, we females have not yet achieved what our masculine counterparts have achieved. Men seem to be in high places, and as soon as a woman tries to do the same, she is cla… Continue
