excerpt from humorous memoir "Falling Stars: a Coming of Age Tale of Friendship, Debauchery and Meteor Showers"

The Bird Lady: An Intermission, Part ThreeYou know, Perseid meteor showers weren’t the only thing I used Enid’s backyard for; I also started gardening there. My first weedy plot gave way to an acre of herbs and vegetables and wildflowers by the time I got stranded in a hundred year-old farmhouse in rural central Ohio. And now I could indulge my passions for both gardening and meteor showers by simply walking out the door. There were no more drives out to the country, to Enid’s mom’s yard,…See More

Tryin' to Conjure Up a Little Magic (song lyrics)

Chorus:It's the call of the wild. It's the call of the road. It's the gravelly voice of asphalt. It's the wind in my hair. It's the spring in my step. It's the old Left Coast Gestalt.I always knew I'd be a tired old man, with a flock of pink flamingos stuck in my sand, saving falling stars by the bed in a can, tryin' to conjure up a little magic.I've lived in the mountains, where the snow fell in pounds. The smart money hibernated deep underground, waitin' for the equinox to come around, tryin' to conjure…See More

About Me:
...I write for the joy of it; anyone reading and enjoying what I've done is just more syrup on my pancakes.

My wife and I are Gypsy Innkeepers, traveling the country as a couple of hospitality Jack Kerouacs. We're at our 17th gig in ten years. We are also nature lovers - bird watchers, star gazers, wildflower sniffers, butterfly chasers, morel mushrooms coveters...

I also play the guitar, write and record my own songs, and photograph nature (mostly wildflowers).

I was a freelance nature columnist during the '90s in Ohio and Indiana, and I've self-published a couple books (with several more on the way).

Currently I am writing a monthly astronomy column for the West Yellowstone News, a weekly paper in West Yellowstone MT.

Hi ya Gregg!

I really enjoyed the insight into you and your life's love.

Kindred artsy fartsy hippie chick myself...and the black sheep of my conservative kin. It's so nice to have you aboard the Poetry/Prose train. I await your contributions with baited breath.

Be well...
