Animal Crackers: Fantasy/Sci Fi Writer's Group

This is a place for writers to share their work with fellow writers. Though I focus on cheesy vampire romance with a splash of fantasy for background, I don't see why we can't make this a generic fantasy/science fiction arena.

Hey Alison! Good to meet you and welcome to Animal Crackers! How can I assist you?

Ok, I know you're are envisioning a little teenager imaging herself to be a great writer someday who's flamboyant and whimsical and can't maintain a solid state of mind...but It's nothing at all what you see. I love to write with all I have, since I was seven. But now that I'm really working on a story, I've got writer's block and kind of need some assistance. This comment is too long already for me to describe the story to you so I'll wait until the next time you comment me beck. But the basic genre is fantasy/ romance/ adventure/ mystery...not really narrowed down but thanks for replying to my comment. Comment back, please!

You're zeal is perfect Alis! And your passionate desire to write a story inspires me dearly. Fantasy/Fiction is my expertise. So my big question is...how much have you completely thus far? Whimsical & Flamboyant this is so cool...when I'm through with you I intend for you to have not just a solid mind, but a novel.

Hey and also Alis, when you're ready to start posting, check out our extended Animal Crackers board: http://animalcrackers.activeboard.com/

This site is secured so only the committed members can view our work. After you click on the active board, contact CR Junkins and he will give you access to the forum. I look forward to helping in your journeys, and let know one look down on you because you are young. If you are passionate about something creatively great, let nothing or no one stop you from succeeding in it. No matter how small the fire is, eventually it will make big noise.

I have done a few pages but as one would think, most of the ideas are still just of list of events in my small, red notebook :). The idea of the story, though, is not totally complete, which is what I need help with. I have the beginning and parts of the middle, and perhaps even an ending. But what I don't have is motivation, plot idea, side-conflicts, or really even why what happens in the end, happens! basically, I need all the help I can get so I will email to you what I do have. Just bits and pieces really and a synopsis of my story. And thanks for the advice, I might just do that lol. I hope that you will and can help me with my story, because, at this point, I am losing hope.

That is a BRILLIANT suggestion Judy!!! Thanks for the advice. One quote that I love is, " There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you," Which is exactly how I feel, and now you've given me an idea of how to get rid of that agony quicker :). Thanks so much. If you have anymore advice I would love to hear from you.

Okay Awesome Alis...you can either send it to my inbox or copy and paste the forum site and we can start here: http://animalcrackers.activeboard.com/

I would recommend the forum because then you will have more of a creative writing atmosphere and it is locked out to visitors and novel thieves lol. Judith makes a strong point, and the more you write the less anxiety you have in writing. Instead of trying to perfect your vision...write it. Eventually you or an editor or a coach (me) will go back and help you expand on the revisions. Remember this Alis...that 90% writers start a novel, but only 10% actually finish.

Make yourself a part of that ten per cent which is made up of visionaries who turned their dreams into a reality of masterpieces. -Moses

Ok I will definitely do that. Although, I am a bit nervous to send it because I'v never actually had ANYONE read my work...EVER. For me, it's like building a house from my own design and then inviting a realtor in to critique my effort on the house's work. It's sort of like putting/ writing down thoughts your too scared to actually say otherwise, and then having someone read those thoughts and tell me what's wrong with them lol. But please give me any and all criticism you can come up with. Thanks I'll send them as soon as I send this comment.
