In the postcolonial era, African/Black literatures have started to be merged with the mainstream American/ British literatures.Geoffrey V. Davis’s view is quite significant: “In a recent interview Kwame Kwei-Armah describes the present time in the history of Black British culture as a Renaissance which will come to equal that of Harlem…In the world o theatre…the Black and Asian presence in Britain has become ubiquitous and is increasingly visible of late at the country’s major theatrical institutions (9).”

Actually, when we think of nationality and nativism then it should be regarded as it is means Afro-American. years Indian English Literature was known as Anglo-Indian Literature but in the Post-colonial period Nationalism became major factor in New literatures so instead of calling it American Literature its better to call it Afro- American or merely African Literature. In recent years we started to use a term Asian American Literature but actually these writers are considered as Diasporic in their Native Countries.
